Finact wants to build an institutional research and development capability similar to the knowledge teams of leading professional services firms. The Research Analyst will act as part of the company knowledge brain, producing industry studies, regulatory intelligence, market maps, client briefing material and original insight that strengthens consulting, sales, thought leadership and product development. The role is not a content writing position. It requires structured research, evidence, financial and industry analysis, clear synthesis and the ability to turn information into useful commercial and advisory insight.
The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, sceptical of weak evidence and comfortable moving between numbers, regulation, business models and written analysis. We want someone who asks better questions, can find and evaluate credible information quickly, and can turn scattered data into an executive level point of view.
2 to 4 years of experience in research, strategy, consulting, equity research, transaction advisory, market intelligence, economic research or a professional services knowledge team.
What you'll do
- 1. Conduct structured industry research covering market size, growth drivers, value chains, economics, competitive landscape, regulation, operating models, risks and emerging trends for priority sectors relevant to Finact clients.
- 2. Build sector profiles and company intelligence for consulting teams, business development and client meetings, including financial analysis, peer benchmarking, ownership, geographic footprint, strategy and key business events.
- 3. Track UAE, India and relevant international regulatory and economic developments and convert them into concise internal briefs explaining what changed, which clients are affected and what advisory opportunity may arise.
- 4. Produce original research products such as the UAE Mid Market Finance and Compliance Index, thematic studies, benchmark reports, survey analysis and data driven insight notes that can support media, events and senior thought leadership.
- 5. Maintain structured knowledge repositories covering industries, regulations, methodologies, prior studies, source libraries, expert contacts and reusable data so research compounds rather than being recreated for each assignment.
- 6. Support consulting engagements with market research, commercial due diligence, competitor analysis, operating benchmarks, business model assessment and evidence for strategy or transaction related recommendations.
- 7. Design research plans, define hypotheses, select credible sources, reconcile conflicting evidence and document assumptions so conclusions are traceable and suitable for client use.
- 8. Use databases, spreadsheets, AI research tools and automation to accelerate information collection and analysis while validating important facts against reliable primary or high quality sources.
- 9. Work with marketing and practice leaders to turn strong research into executive briefings, presentations, articles, webinars and client conversations without diluting technical quality into generic content.
- 10. Develop sector specific points of view and proactively identify questions Finact should study before clients ask them, helping the firm build intellectual property and differentiated advisory capability.
What we're looking for
- Technical Skills:
- 1. Structured industry and company research using primary and secondary sources.
- 2. Financial statement analysis, benchmarking and interpretation of market or operating data.
- 3. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills with the ability to present evidence clearly.
- 4. Ability to use databases, public filings, government sources and research platforms efficiently.
- 5. Strong written synthesis, source discipline and executive presentation skills.
- 6. Practical use of AI research tools with verification, citation and confidentiality controls.
- Preferred Skills:
- 1. Experience in Big 4, consulting, investment research, knowledge management or strategy teams.
- 2. Exposure to UAE, GCC or India market research and regulatory environments.
- 3. Experience producing original surveys, indices, industry reports or thought leadership.
- 4. Ability to work across multiple sectors rather than being limited to one narrow industry.
